The Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) in Angers invites applications for a traineeship of 12 months.

Profile / Duties

Under the supervision of the Communication Officer, the trainee will be involved in a wide range of communication projects aimed at promoting the CPVO activities to relevant stakeholders, the public and the media.

In particular, the trainee will be requested to produce content for CPVO’s online communication channels such as the website, social media and the newsletter.

Key strengths include:

Content Creation and Management: Expertise in producing high-quality digital content, including social media posts, articles, interviews. 

Social Media Savvy: Proven experience in managing and developing social media accounts, ensuring consistent, impactful online presence. 

Skilled in drafting public messages in collaboration with technical and legal experts. 

Stakeholder Engagement: Adept at identifying and mapping relevant stakeholders, assessing database relevance, and tailoring communications to different audiences. 

Event Planning and Coordination: Experience in planning, organising, and executing events. 

Networking and Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders. 

Language Proficiency: Excellent command of English and satisfactory knowledge of another EU official language. Knowledge of French is an advantage. 

Adaptability and Teamwork: Thrives in international environments, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a keen interest in EU policies. A sociable team player who is dynamic, proactive, and eager to learn. 

The CPVO is a dynamic and multicultural working environment where the communication trainee will receive support and guidance from experienced professionals and where she/he will be able to use her/his creativity and make his/her contribution visible. This traineeship is a unique opportunity to gain experience with a European Union agency and be directly involved on pan-European communication projects.

Qualifications

Advantageous:  

  • Experience in producing editorial content - e.g. articles, blog posts; 

  • Capacity to translate complex technical matters in simple language; 

  • Strong interest to work in an international environment and to learn about EU policies; 

  • Creative thinking and ability to work autonomously and to pay attention to details; 

  • Be sociable team player, dynamic, proactive, keen to learn and flexible; 

  • Experience with a web CMS;

  • Interest in the European Union project.

Contractual Conditions

The successful candidate will be offered a traineeship of 12 months, not renewable.

Grant: trainees will be awarded a monthly traineeship grant, equal to 25% of basic salary for EU officials in grade AD5 step 1 as of 31.12.2023, plus the correction coefficient for France (for information: 1.645,38 € in 2024).

The place of traineeship is Angers, France. 

Start date:  1st October 2024
